SCOTT WEILAND, COURTNEY LOVE To Perform With CAMP FREDDY At Private Birthday Bash
September 25, 2004Scott Weiland (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS),Courtney Love (HOLE) and Jerry Cantrell (ex-ALICE IN CHAINS) are among the special guests expected to perform with CAMP FREDDY at a private birthday party at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA Saturday night (Sept. 25). The star-studded event will also include comedic performances by Jay Leno and Robin Williams. Courtney "was great [at rehearsal Friday] — killed Iggy's 'Search And Destroy'!" CAMP FREDDY guitarist Billy Morrison (DOHENY, ex-THE CULT) writes in an online posting. "And Scott Weiland is also making his CAMP FREDDY debut with us [Saturday] — and it was so much fun running through the songs with him [Friday]."
CAMP FREDDY is the Los Angeles-based "jam" band featuring Morrison, JANE'S ADDICTION guitarist Dave Navarro, ex-JANE'S ADDICTION drummer Stephen Perkins, and vocalist Donovan Leitch (the son of 1960s U.K. folk-rock icon Donovan).
CAMP FREDDY entered a Los Angeles studio in January to begin recording their all-star "covers" album for Sanctuary Records. A late 2004/early 2005 release is expected.
